Yazan Manjah

He comes from Middle East, but he has settled well in the Czech Republic over 20 years. He dedicated all his life to gastronomy and cooking, an important impulse for him was the participation in the Czech version of Masterchef which pushed him towards  professional gastronomy.

Among other places, Yazan worked in Prague restaurant Home Kitchen, cooked as a chef in successful bistro Jam and Co which focuses on Asian fusion, and for the last two years he has engaged in lecturing activities. That’s Asian cuisine that is close to Yazan’s heart, he cooked his first curry simply by estimating the recipe. Similarly, the Lebanese cuisine is his unforgettable "home memory” that he will never tire of:-). The creativity going hand in hand with passion and love for cooking are his investment in our courses in Ola Kala.

The Lebanese cuisine is full of history, aromas and tastes of Middle East.

Pomegranate, baked eggplant, leaf parsley with bulgur, sumac spice, perfectly cooked lamb, essential pita bread..., do you know how this tastes on one table?

Treats and unexpected combinations of ingredients. This makes the unique taste of Lebanese meals. It will be fragrant, varied, really delicious and not at all spicy!

A two-in-one experience, cooking course + wine tasting of up to 12 types of French wines (included in the cooking course).

COURSE CHARACTERISTICS

On the Lebanon course, you will learn to work with spices and ingredients that will match in perfect harmony.

You will prepare traditional dishes better than in restaurants, according to home recipes of the course lecturer. You will create an unexpectedly refreshing menu that you have to love!

Did you know that the name of Lebanon has existed for 4,000 years, it was mentioned 71 times in the Bible, and it has 17 religious communities? In addition, Lebanon is the only Middle East country that has no desert; on the contrary, there are 15 rivers flowing through it. Does it sound interesting? Do you already know when you will go on an adventurous journey to find the treasures of this country? You will discover at least some of them on our course.

WHAT WILL WE COOK

  • The classic of all classics - hummus

  • Famous Lebanese salad Tabbouleh

  • Baba ghanoush (also called Moutabal, salad from baked eggplants with pomegranate)

  • Shishtaouk (fragrant chicken on a skewer)

  • Kefta (cones of ground lamb)

  • Baklava (traditional dessert as the sweet ending)

WE WILL TEACH YOU

  • to beat perfectly smooth Hummus

  • to correctly bake eggplant and prepare a delicious dish from the eggplant

  • to work with non-traditional ingredients (pomegranate and syrup, sumac, tahini paste, seven spices mix)

  • to use the spices in a way to make the dishes taste Arabic

  • to combine unusual flavours together

and numerous others tricks and procedures used by professional cooks

ABOUT THE COURSE

How long: Start at 4:00 pm, and expected end around 8:00 pm, (expect 4.5 hours) 

Where: In our studio located in Korunní 115, Praha 3 – Vinohrady or studio located in Husitská 56, Praha 3 - Žižkov.

With whom: The maximum number of participants is 16. The cooking is done in pairs. Every pair prepares the complete menu.
